Memphis Netters Defeat Murray State, 7-0
Feb. 5, 2012 MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis maintained its undefeated record with a 7-0 victory over visiting Murray State at The Racquet Club of Memphis on Sunday morning. Despite their undefeated record, this is the first time this season in which the Tigers won each point in the match. Leon Nasemann and Johnny Grimal started the morning with a quick victory over Jose Berardo and Dylan Gerlach in the number-three doubles match. David Henry and David O'Leary clinched the doubles point with a win over Tyler Jeffers and Max McLean. David O'Hare and Joe Salisbury, ranked 47th nationally, finished the clean sweep of the doubles matches. Grimal opened singles play winning his match against Berardo, who resigned midway through the second set. David Henry and Leon Nasemann followed with victories at the sixth and fourth singles to wrap up the match for the Tigers. Cedric de Zutter, David O'Leary and No. 50 David O'Hare each won their respective matches to close out Murray State. Memphis has a 12-day lay-off before traveling to Nashville, Tenn., for a meeting against 34th-ranked Vanderbilt. The match is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (CT) on Friday, Feb. 17.
