Tiger Tennis Picks up Second Friday Sweep

MEMPHIS - - The University of Memphis men's tennis team (3-2) closed out its Friday with a second match sweep, defeating Murray State (0-6), 5-0, in a non-conference match at The Racquet Club of Memphis.
The Tigers went ahead early by sweeping all three doubles matches, as both the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches got done at the same time after the No. 3 team made quick work of its opponents, 8-2, to put the Tigers up 1-0.
Freshman Lukas Vrnak kept up the pace, blanking his opponent at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0, to push the score to 2-0, Tigers.
David O'Leary was next on the board for the Tigers, with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles. The race was then on between David O'Hare and Connor Glennon to see who would get credit for the match-clinching point.
O'Hare won his match at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-1, to clinch the point, and Glennon was right behind, picking up a win at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1 for the final 5-0 score.
Memphis will take to the road while the U.S. National Indoor Championships are played at The Racquet Club of Memphis featuring ATP and WTA players. The Tigers will play at No. 40 Vanderbilt, Friday, at 2 p.m.
