ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Memphis men's tennis team (2-4, 0-1 C-USA) won the doubles point, but was swept in all six singles matches in a 6-1 loss to No. 71 UCF to open Conference USA play, Thursday.

The Tigers were down early in the doubles match, falling 8-3 at No. 2 doubles, before the team of Garrison Pilant and Spencer Heflin evened the doubles point competition with an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles. It would take a tiebreak to resolve the point though, with the Tiger tandem of Amrit Narasimhan and Benedikt Fischer defeated the team of Johan Beigart and Sinan Sudas, 9-8 (6).

UCF would battle back with straight set wins in the bottom three singles slots. The top three singles slots all went three sets, with the No. 2 match going in UCF's favor, 7-6, while Beigart got revenge for his doubles loss with a 7-5 third set win over Fischer at No. 3 singles.

The Tigers will remain in Orlando and will face East Carolina, Friday, at 9 a.m. (ET).
