Atlanta, Ga. - Memphis defeated a ranked opponent for the third consecutive time in men's tennis downing Georgia State, 4-2, in Atlanta Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers, ranked 59th in this week's Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings, have defeated UNLV, Louisville and now 53rd ranked Georgia State in succession.

The Tigers have won four matches in a row to raise their record to 8-4 with nine of their 12 matches coming against ranked opponents.

Despite losing the doubles point today, the Tigers rallied for four singles wins with Ben stapp, Joe Schmulian, Lee Taylor Walker and Conference USA Player of the Week Alex Bucewicz picking up singles victories.
