March 17, 2007
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis men's tennis team (4-8, 1-1 C-USA) bounced back from a four-match losing streak with a 7-0 sweep of Indiana State in non-conference action at Rhodes College, Saturday morning. "It was a great team effort and nice to get contributions from all of the guys," Head Coach Paul Goebel said. "We will have another tough match tomorrow against a top Ohio Valley Conference opponent in Tennessee Tech." The Tigers split the first two doubles matches, as the team of Rishi Behl and Anton Tymbalov, the two lone upperclassmen on the Sycamore roster, defeated the Tigers' No. 1 team of Amrit Narasimhan and Benedikt Fischer, 8-5 after Charlie Ramsay and Jimmy Khougassian defeated the No. 2 team of Bruno Echer and Michael Wenham of ISU, 8-2. Memphis will remain at home and will host Tennessee Tech, Sunday, beginning at noon. That match will be played at Rhodes College. Memphis 7, Indiana State 0
