Tennis Sweeps San Diego State, 5-0

The University of Memphis men's tennis team (8-2) won their fifth straight dual match with a 5-0 victory over host San Diego State (7-7), Thursday, to kick off the San Diego Mission Valley Classic tournament.
Memphis opened with wins at one and three doubles to take the 1-0 lead in the match. Memphis used an 8-5 win at No. 1 for the day's first victories, and seniors Johnny Grimal and Ian Chadwell combined for their 11th straight doubles victory at number three to seal the point.
Senior Johnny Grimal made it 2-0 Tigers with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles, and senior David O'Hare made it 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 6. Joe Salisbury closed out the win with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 2 and the coaches allowed the match at No. 5 to finish, and Chadwell added a fifth Memphis point with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
The Tigers now advance on the championship side of the draw, and will face No. 43 Drake, Friday, at 1 p.m. (PT). Drake knocked off Princeton, 4-2, on Thursday.
