Men's Tennis Falls at Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. - - The University of Memphis men's tennis team opened a three-match road swing against nationally-ranked opponents with a hard-fought loss to No. 11 Tulsa, Thursday afternoon. Memphis trailed 1-0 following the doubles competiton, as the ranked teams Andy Connelly and Ross Cunningham (No. 19) and Arnau Brugues and Ricardo Soriano (No. 36) won the top two doubles matches following an 8-4 Tulsa win at No. 3. Memphis battled back, with Jordan Smith and Michael Gaerthoeffner each forcing tiebreaks, but the No. 11 ranked Golden Hurricane was too much, completing the sweep with straight set wins at the remainder of the singles matches. The Tigers remain on the road and will travel to Dallas, Texas, for a double-header against two nationally-ranked opponents. Memphis will play at SMU, Saturday, at noon, then will pack up and travel to Waco, Texas, for a 7 p.m. match at No. 18 Baylor. # 11 Tulsa 7, Memphis 0
