Irvine, Ca. - Memphis defeated the University of Denver, 6-1, in the opening round of the eight-team 23rd Annual UC-Irvine Anteater Classic in Irvine, California. Memphis, the tournament's top seed, advances to the semi-finals where the Tigers will now play Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday.

The win is the Tigers' 11th of the season against just five losses. Memphis is currently ranked 57th in the latest Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
