Men's Tennis Falls on the Road at No. 6 Baylor
March 28, 2014
WACO, Texas - -
The No. 32 University of Memphis men’s tennis team (9-4) had its match at No. 6 Baylor moved indoors, but could not pull out the road win, falling 4-0, Friday.
The match was heated from the start, with all three doubles matches remaining close. The Tigers’ No. 1 team of David O’Hare and Joe Salisbury were leading their match, 7-6, but Baylor came back to sneak wins at No. 2, 8-6, and No. 3, 8-7, to take the quick 1-0 lead in the match.
Only three Tigers’ matches got on the singles court, but that was all Baylor would need, as the Bears, picked up wins at No. 2, 4 and 5 singles to pick up their 15th win of the season.
Memphis will plays its first American Athletic Conference match next Friday, Apr. 4th, at Louisville at 1:30 p.m. (CT). The Tigers will get two matches on that road trip, also staying in town to face VCU, Saturday, Apr. 5th.
