Memphis, Tenn. - The University of Memphis defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 6-1, on Friday night to advance to the championship match of the 23rd Annual UC-Irvine Anteater Classic in Irvine, California. The Tigers, the tournament's top seed and currently ranked 57th in the country, will play fellow C-USA member Southern Mississippi in the title match. Southern Miss knocked off the host team, UC-Irvine, in the other semifinal match.

Memphis has now won eight of its last nine matches and could win its second tournament of the spring. The Tigers were co-champions of the H.E.B. Invitational earlier this spring with Middle Tennessee after the final was rained out.
