Tigers Go 4-0 on Day One of ITA Qualifier

TULSA - - The University of Memphis men's tennis team went 4-0 on the first day of the ITA All-American Qualifying Draw, Monday. Joe Salisbury got the day started by continuing his run that started in the pre-qualifier draw with a 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 win over Florida's Billy Federhofer. He will now face No. 56 ranked William Kallberg from Ole Miss, Tuesday, at 11 a.m. Johnny Grimal was next to advance to the second round with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Columbia's Winston Lin to earn a 9 a.m. Tuesday match against No. 84 ranked Michael Alford from Florida. Connor Glennon, the No. 106 ranked player in the country, was the third Tiger to advance with a 6-4, 6-1 win over DePaul's Filip Dzanko to earn a 1 p.m. Tuesday match against No. 58 ranked Chris Simpson of LSU who is also the No. 6 seed in the draw. David O'Leary made it a perfect 4-0 day for the Tigers with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Florida State's Anderson Reed. He will advance to a Tuesday match against Stanford's John Morrissey.
