CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Senior Lee Taylor Walker (Jackson, Tenn./Univ. School of Jackson) advanced to the Round of 32 in singles and the doubles at the Icy Hot/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Pre-Qualifying Tournament, Saturday.

Walker opened the morning with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Baylor's Jason Gould in the singles bracket, earning a Round of 32 singles match against Conference USA foe Kristijan Mitrovski from UAB at 9 a.m., Sunday.

The senior then teamed with freshman James Spence to win a pair of doubles matches. The duo opened with an 8-2 win over the team of Nihal Advani and Mithun Murali from Arkansas-Little Rock before posting an 8-6 win over the team of Takemko Morita and Vuk Rajevac from Rice. The Tiger tandem will not have much time for Walker to recover between the singles and doubles portion of the tournament, Sunday, as they face Purdue's Troy Havens and Paul Rose at 11:30 after Walker's 9:00 a.m. singles match.

Two other Tiger tandems fell in doubles play, Saturday. The duo of Alex Bucewicz and Marten Tamla fell to Florida State's Jeff Groslimond and Chris Westerhof, 8-4, while the team of Mark Finnegan and Alex Jago fell to Miami's Josh Cohen and Eric Hechtman, 9-7, following a Tiger first-round bye.
