CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - University of Memphis men's tennis player Lee Taylor Walker (Jackson, Tenn./Univ. School of Jackson) advanced to the Round of 16 with a three-set come-from-behind win over UAB's Kristijan Mitrovski, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. With the win, Walker advances to face his first seeded opponent of the tournament, Monday, at 9 a.m., when he will face Arkansas' Nathan Price, a fellow No. 1 seed like Walker.

But with a 9 a.m. singles match that went three sets, the last thing Walker wanted was to get into a drag-down, knock-out doubles match, but that's exactly what happened. Walker, teamed with freshman James Spence, had a doubles match scheduled just 2 ½ hours after his singles match was slated to start. The duo hung with Purdue's Trey Havens and Paul rose for most of the match, but fell 8-6 in the Round of 32.

The remainder of the Tiger squad will return home and will have some practice time, allowing them to prepare for the ITA Southeast Regional, which will be hosted at The Racquet Club of Memphis, Oct. 16-19. Walker will remain in Chattanooga for his Monday match.
