CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Senior men's tennis player Ben Stapp (Sydney, Australia/St. Joseph's) can now focus on his doubles match with teammate Lee Taylor Walker (Jackson, Tenn./University School of Jackson) after falling just short of upsetting the No. 3 seed in the ITA All-American Qualifier, Thursday.

Stapp won the opening set from William Barker, the No. 3 seed of the bracket, 6-4. Barker answered back with a 6-3 win in the second set to force the third set tiebreak. The third set was close, but Barker prevailed, 7-6 (6), to advance to the Round of 32. Barker won his Round of 32 match to advance to the Round of 16, 6-2, 6-4

Stapp and Walker, who automatically qualified for the main draw of the doubles tournament, will face the duo of Ari Strasberg and Alex Vlaski from Washington at 6:30 p.m., Thursday. The winner of that match advances into the Round of 16 to face the winner of the Evan Austin/Karim Benmansour (Kentucky)/Thomas Haug/Avery Ticer (Minnesota) match.
