TULSA, Okla. - David O'Hare and Joe Salisbury made a great run into the quarterfinals of the main draw consolation bracket at the ITA Men's All-American Championships. The duo knocked off Alex Brigham and Adrien Puget of UCLA, a top-10 doubles team, before falling 9-8(8) to Ohio State in the quarterfinals.
"David (O'Hare) and Joe (Salisbury) made a really great run in this tournament," University of Memphis men's tennis head coach Paul Goebel said. "It was great national exposure for our program, and it really gave us a chance to perform against some of the best players in the country. This gives us some great momentum going into the ITA Regionals next week."
The duo went undefeated in three qualifying matches to move into the first round of the main draw. Eric Sock and Andre Stenger of Nebraska knocked off O'Hare and Salisbury 8-6, setting up the bout with the top-10 UCLA doubles team in the first round of the consolation bracket.
