JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - K.C. Griffin, a freshman from Millington, Tenn., had his win streak haulted by North Florida's Marcos Chiaretti on Sunday, losing 6-1, 6-1. North Florida was ranked as high as No. 75 in the country last season. Chiaretti, a freshman for the Ospreys, is 10-0 so far this fall. Griffin is now 10-1 in his first season as a member of Paul Goebel's Memphis men's tennis team.

Griffin advanced to the finals after defeating Alonso Rodriguez of Georgia Southern, 6-2, 6-4. In the quarterfinals, Griffin upended Osvaldo Benitez of Florida Atlantic, 6-7(4), 6-0, 10-7 in the second round of play. In the first round, Griffin upended Mark Worsham of Mercer, 6-4, 6-1.

Jordan Smith and Spencer Heflin also competed at the UNF Fall Invite in Jacksonville, Fla. Smith lost in the first round and moved to the consolation bracket. The sophomore from Memphis, Tenn., defaulted over his opponent in the first round of consolations and then fell 6-4, 6-2 to David Jackson, 6-4, 6-2.

Spencer Heflin lost in the first round to Tomas Dobrotka of South Carolina State, 4-6,7-6(4),6-3. Heflin advanced to the consolations where he was upended by Dan Vardag of Florida Atlantic, 6-2, 6-0.

The Memphis men's tennis team will next hit the courts at the ITA Regional on Oct. 16-19 in Lexington, Ky.
