Memphis, Tenn.-- - The University of Memphis men's tennis team will open its 2000 spring season at Middle Tennessee State, Friday. Memphis will be one of three teams travelling to Murfreesboro to compete in a quadrangular tournament. Troy State and UT-Chattanooga will also travel to MTSU for this weekend's tournament.

The tournament opens when Memphis faces UT-Chattanooga at 5 p.m., Friday. The Tigers will then play host Middle Tennessee State at 11 a.m., Saturday. MTSU was ranked No. 68 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association top 75 poll following the fall season.

This will be The U of M's second trip to MTSU this season. The Tigers played in the Middle Tennessee Fall Classic in September when sophomore Michael LaHaie won the Flight Three Consolation Singles Title over MTSU's Dustin Kane. LaHaie also combined with freshman Jamie Adams to advance to the Flight Three Doubles Finals.
