MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Junior men's tennis player Michael Jetter was named the Conference USA player of the week, it was announced by the league office, Wednesday. This is Jetter's second Conference USA honor, as he was named the league's player of the month in October.

Jetter helped Memphis off to a 1-0 record with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 win at the No. 1 singles spot over Samford's Stuart Misner. Jetter also teamed with Garrison Pilant, whom he won the B Doubles Crown with at Middle Tennessee during the fall, and won a match at No. 2 doubles, helping Memphis complete a doubles sweep against a Samford team that went 8-0 through the Ohio Valley Conference last season.

The Tiger men's tennis team will play five nationally-ranked opponents as part of a six-game road trip. The Tigers open at Oral Roberts, Thursday, before facing No. 23 Oklahoma State, Friday, and No. 50 Tulsa, Saturday. The Tigers will wrap up their four-day stay in Tulsa against No. 46 Oklahoma on Sunday before returning home briefly, then departing for matches at No. 39 Vanderbilt next Friday and No. 16 Tennessee next Saturday.

The Tigers are the No. 74 ranked team in the FILA Team Rankings released on Tuesday.
