Glennon Named Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Junior men’s tennis player Connor Glennon was named the American Athletic Conference player of the week, the league office released Tuesday.
Glennon finished with a 2-1 singles record at No. 1 during the San Diego Invitational this past weekend. The Tigers earned wins over No. 61 San Diego and San Diego State in the third place match. Memphis’ lone loss came against No. 43 Drake.
Glennon, along with teammate Cedric De Zutter, finished the weekend with a 2-0 record. The duo won the deciding doubles point in the match against Drake. The Tigers won all three doubles points in the tournament.
This is the fourth time that a Tiger has won conference player of the week honors this season. Joe Salisbury won the award on Feb. 25 as well as sharing the award with teammeate David O’Hare back in October, while David O’Leary was selected on Jan. 28.
Memphis remains on the road to face No. 5 Baylor in Waco, Texas on Mar. 28 at 6 p.m. (CT).
