Memphis, Tenn.-- - University of Memphis freshman Ben Stapp (Sydney, Australia) was named the Conference USA men's tennis player of the week after going undefeated in three matches over the weekend.

Stapp became the first Tiger to reach the 10-win plateau in both singles and doubles this season with wins at UT-Martin, Friday. The freshman, who just joined the team in January, has the best singles record on the team with a mark of 12-9. Stapp came to Memphis after finishing as the top-ranked high school player in Australia last season.

Stapp was 3-0 at No. 4 singles in three days, downing opponents from UT-Martin, Murray State and Austin Peay. Stapp also teamed with junior Alistair Todd (Perth, Australia) to post an undefeated weekend at No. 1 doubles. The duo is 12-6 at the No. 1 spot, the best record of any Tigers' doubles team.

Memphis is playing at No. 58 Arkansas, Tuesday, in a match that began at 1 p.m. The Tigers' last home match is Saturday against Oklahoma Christian. The first serve is schedule for 1 p.m. at The Racquet Club.
