Memphis, Tenn. --- - The University of Memphis men's tennis team will host its first-ever Pro-Am, Apr. 27-28th, on the resurfaced University of Memphis courts. The tournament, in round-robin format, will pit current Tiger players against alumni and supporters of the program, beginning at 8:45 a.m., Apr. 28th.

The previous evening, there will be a reception held in honor of Tommy Buford, who was the Head Coach of the men's tennis team for 30 years. Buford coached current Head Coach Phil Chamberlain from 1973-76. Chamberlain was inducted to the Tennessee Tennis Hall of Fame, Jan. 26th of this year. Chamberlain is already in the University of Memphis and the Memphis Amateurs Halls of Fame.
