Men's Tennis Secures Top Seed in American Athletic Conference Tournament

The University of Memphis men's tennis team (13-4) has earned the top seed for the upcoming American Athletic Conference championships it was announced by the league office, Monday. With the top seed, the Tigers earn a first-round bye and will await the winner of the No. 4 UCF/No. 5 SMU match. The Tigers will play the winner of that match on Saturday at 2 p.m. UCF and SMU will square off at 3 p.m., Friday.
USF earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament, and will open play against No. 7 seeded UConn, Friday, Apr. 18th, at 9 a.m. at The Racquet Club of Memphis. The winner of that match will advance to the first semifinal to face the winner of the No. 3 Louisville/No. 6 Temple match. Louisville and Temple will face off at noon on Friday at The Racquet Club of Memphis.
The semifinals, where Memphis will begin play, will be held on Saturday, April 19th. The first semifinal will be played at 11 a.m. and the second semifinal, which will feature the Tigers, will be played at 2 p.m. The conference championship match will be played at noon, Sunday.
The first men's tennis championship in the American Athletic Conference will be hosted entirely in Memphis, Friday through Sunday. Admission for all matches is free.
