MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis men's tennis concludes its 2011 regular season on Saturday, April 16 in a dual match against the UAB Blazers. The Conference USA battle is slated for 11:30 a.m. CT on the outdoor courts at The Racquet Club of Memphis.

At the final home match of the 2011 spring schedule, the squad will honor seniors Jordan Smith and John Taylor.

Smith is a four-year veteran for the U of M and in dual matches over that time he has compiled a 48-16 career doubles mark and 12-13 in singles. The Memphis native broke into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association with partner David Henry at No. 82, in the year end polls of the 2010 spring season, and the duo climbed as high as No. 47.

Taylor, originally hailing from Ontario, Canada, joined the Blue and Gray in 2009 after spending two years at Utah. During his time in the Bluff City, he has tallied a 21-13 singles record and 30-13 in doubles, padded by an outstanding 19-4 mark this season.

As for the team, Memphis (14-9, 3-3 C-USA) enters the finale coming off a loss to North Florida, in a heartbreaking 4-3 decision. UAB (9-9, 2-1 C-USA) also fell 4-3 in its last outing to No. 51 Alabama, which snapped a five-match win streak for the Blazers.

This will be the final conference contest for both squads before the C-USA Men's Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Okla. The championships will be hosted by Tulsa at the Case Tennis Center beginning Thursday, April 21. Seeding and scheduling is set to be released early next week.
