MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Eight singles players advanced into the main draw singles portion of the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional hosted at The Racquet Club of Memphis, Thursday. Included in those eight were University of Memphis sophomore Bryan Bankester, who used a 6-3, 6-0 win over No. 3 seed Eric Lim from Mississippi State to advance to the main draw.

Only three seeded players advanced through the qualifying singles draw, led by No. 2 seed Andrew Felsenthal of Alabama. Felsenthal downed LSU's Kevin Dessauer, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to the main draw. Dessauer had battled to get to the Round of 16 with a come-from-behind 3-7, 6-3, 7-6 victory to wrap up the round one results.

Also advancing was No. 4 seed Shauny Hoyes from Miami. Hoyes did not drop a set in two matches, getting past Mississippi State's Ryan Farlow, 7-6, 6-2 en route a main draw slot. No. 5 seed Vivek Subramanian, also from Miami, was the last seeded player to advance. Subramanian downed LSU's John Tragardh, 6-3, 6-2, to move on to Friday's main draw. Tragardh was the night's lucky loser however, as one player in the main draw withdrew and Tragardh was moved into the main draw in that spot.

The main draw will open Friday morning at 8 a.m. utilizing two different sites in Memphis. Singles will be played at both The Racquet Club of Memphis and at WellWorkx Tennis Center. Two rounds of singles will be played and one round of doubles will cap off the competition in the evening.
