LEXINGTON, Kent. - The No. 1 doubles duo of Ben Stapp and Lee Taylor Walker has advanced to the finals of the Omni Hotels Region III Championships with an 8-3 win over the LSU team of Fischer/Hazley in the first semifinal, Monday morning.

Stapp and Walker now wait to see who will advance from the second semifinal bracket, which features Alabama's Hiscoz/Mitchell and Jacksonville's Birkmann and Mueller. The final is slated to be played at 1 p.m., Monday afternoon.

"The guys are playing really well right now," head coach Phil Chamberlain said. "It's just a matter of putting it together for two straight matches now to see if we can qualify for Nationals."

The winner of the Region III Championship will advance to the Omni Hotels Indoor National Championships, being held Nov. 7-10 in Dallas, Texas.
