LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The U of M men's tennis program had its most successful tournament of the season in Louisville, Ky., this weekend at the 2010 Louisville Winter Invitational. Participating netters took home two titles and recorded the most match wins of the year, with 14 in singles play and seven in doubles.

Senior John Taylor won four matches and was named champion of his singles flight when Jonathan Hadash (Drake) retired from the finals on Sunday. This is Taylor's first singles title of his career.

Freshman Joan Marc Grimal-Ferrer beat players from Kentucky, Butler and Drake and made it to his second draw finals in two tournaments where he was finally upended by Mauricio Ballivian (Drake), 6-1, 7-5.

Teamed up, Taylor and Ferrer also took home the title in the main doubles draw as well, facing their singles opponents Ballivian and Hadash as a tandem in the finals and downing them in the tiebreaker of a tight match, 9-8 (7-5).

The Tigers will conclude their 2010 fall campaign in Tuscaloosa, Ala., at the 2010 Crimson Tide Invitational from Friday to Sunday, Nov. 5-7.
