2006-07: CROSS COUNTRY - Ran in all five meets for the Tigers ... Ran a season best 27:10.74 in the 8k, at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic ... Finished second on the team, at the UALR Open and the Rhodes Invitational, finishing in times of 28:28.09 and 28:11.38 ... Was the fourth Tiger to cross the line at C-USA Championships ... INDOOR - At the ASU Kickoff Classic placed 5th in both the mile and 3000 meters in times of 4:35.83 and 9:54.10 ... OUTDOOR - Ran the 5000 meters in a time of 15:57.69 at the Rhodes Invitational ... At the Lynx Invitational competed in the 800 meter run finishing in a time of 2:09.08 and ran the 1500 meters in a time of 4:13.04 good enough for a 10th place finish ... Competed at the Mississippi State Bulldog Classic placing 3rd in the 3000 meter steeple with a time of 11:07.79 and finishing the 3000 meters in a time of 9:37.65.
2005: CROSS COUNTRY-Was a solid contributor in his first season at the U of M, leading the team in two of four meets...Paced the squad with a time of 32:10.00 in the 8K ASU Invitational, placing 28th...Placed 14th at the SEMO Invitational with a time of 18:25.00 for the 5K race...Led the Tigers at the C-USA Championships, posting an 8K time of 28:41.07. INDOOR- Finished third in the 800-meters at the ASU Kick-Off, running a 2:01.06 OUTDOOR- Ran a season-best 2:04.27 in the 800 meters at Vanderbilt ... Ran a season best 4:25.31 in the 1500 at the Bulldog Invitational.
PREP: Attended Franklin H.S. where he lettered in track and cross country...Was captain of both the track and cross country teams...Won the 2004 regional cross country championship...Named Franklin High's Most Valuable Runner his junior and senior years...Coached by Tony Holler.
PERSONAL: Born Feb. 12, 1986 in Bogota, Colombia...Son of Luz Prieto, who is an occupational therapist...Majoring in electrical engineering...Chose the U of M because it was a school he liked and it has a good history in track and cross country.
