R. Mahmood of only two Tigers returning who competed in cross country meets in 2002...A local athlete that will add depth to the squad in 2003.
2003: (CROSS COUNTRY)-Suffered an ankle injury in the Memphis Twilight Classic, he did not finish the race and missed the rest of the season with a severely sprained ankle.
2002-03: CROSS COUNTRY-competed in three cross country meets for the Tigers...Placed ninth at the Murray State Invite with a time of 22:20.90...Finished 6th at the C-USA Championships with a time of 28:06.77 (8K)...Personal best times of 22:30.90 (four-mile run) and 28:25.79 (8K).
PREP: Attended Germantown H.S...Lettered four years in cross country and two years in track...Was captain of the cross country team junior and senior years... Was also a captain of the track distance team...Was MVP of cross country team...Named outstanding distance runner as a junior and senior and most improved as a sophomore...Nominated for Best of Preps all four years...2001 All-American Triathlon... Holds the Germantown High School record in cross country and had his jersey retired after his senior year... Was 1st in the USA in the 16-19 year old group in the triathlon...Finished fourth in the nation in 2002 at the Junior Nationals Triathlon... Pesonal best times of 15:51 (three-mile run), 4:37 (mile run), 10:00 (two-mile run), 2:01 (800m)...Also competed in swimming in high school...Was co-captain of the swim team...Also a member of the Better Business Club...
