Martin has developed into one of C-USA's top throwers through his career at Memphis...Last year he won the C-USA Indoor Championship in the shot put and qualified for NCAA Outdoor Regionals in the hammer throw...He along with teammate Gaute Myklebust give the Tigers the top throwing corps in C-USA heading into 2003.

2003: INDOOR TRACK-Won the C-USA Indoor Championship in the shot put with a mark of 17.09m...Placed third in the hammer throw at the C-USA Indoor Championships with a toss of 15.87m...Personal best mark of 17.29m (Shot Put)...OUTDOOR TRACK-Won the UALR Open (3/22) shot put competition with a toss of 17.27m...Placed third in the shot put (16.40m) at the Big Cat Classic (3/29)...Placed second in the shot put at the Southeast Missouri State Gatorade Classic (4/5) (17.24m) helping the Tigers win the meet title...Finished third in both the shot put and hammer at the Ole Miss Invitational (4/12)...Won the shot put with a toss of 16.90m at the Ole Miss Easter Invite (4/19), and won the hammer throw with a toss of 50.50m...Qualified for NCAA Regionals at the Ole Miss Invite in the hammer throw with a toss of 54.76m which also placed first at the meet...Placed second at the C-USA Championships in the shot put while earning a NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 17.25m, finished third in the hammer throw (51.66m)...Finished 21st at the NCAA Mid-Eastern Regional in Columbus, Ohio in the hammer throw with a toss of 53.62m...Personal best marks of 17.25m (shot put), 39.65m (discus), 54.76m (hammer).

2002: INDOOR TRACK-Was the Conference USA Indoor Shot Put runner-up with an effort of 15.74m at the C-USA Championships...His best effort of the season was in the first meet of the year at Arkansas State (1/26), where he put the shot 16.51m...Garnered a total of four second place finishes in the shot during the indoor season and never finished lower than fourth in the shot during the outdoor season...OUTDOOR TRACK-Won the shot at Arkansas State (3/22) and the hammer at Mississippi State (4/6)...His 49.96m toss of the hammer at Mississippi State was a season-best...His best discus of the season was a 42.20m effort that helped him finish fourth at Murray State (4/27)...Finished fourth in the shot at the outdoor championships with a season-best 15.98m mark...Also finished seventh in the hammer throw (48.30m) and 15th in the discus (37.42m)...Personal best marks were 15.98m (shot put, 42.20m (discus) and 49.96m (hammer).

2001: INDOOR TRACK-Finished fourth in the weight throw (15.17m) and sixth in the shot put (14.91m) at C-USA Indoor Championships (2/24)...OUTDOOR TRACK-Martin posted two outdoor season bests at the C-USA Outdoor Championships (5/10), finishing fourth in the hammer with a season-best 51.04m throw...He added a sixth-place finish in the shot put, another season best 15.58m effort...His best discus was at the Tiger Invite (4/21) where he finished fourth after a toss of 44.04m.

PREP: Attended Monett H.S...Was a four-year letterwinner in track and a three-year letterwinner in football...He qualified for the state track meet at Monett, posting a career-best distance of 59-0.50 in the shot and 155-0.5 in the discus...His shot put distance was good enough for the Missouri State Championships in 2000...Also played football in high school and was an all-district linebacker...He was coached by Jerry Hudson.
