Amaechi Oselukwue joins the University of Memphis track and field staff for his first season. Oselukwue competed for the Tiger track team from 2004-08 and will specialize in assisting with the hurdles and sprints.

"We are lucky to have Amaechi join our staff. As a former athlete he brings character and athleticism to our coaching staff and we are fortunate to have him," said sprint coach Nic Fortenberry.

Oselukwue, is a two-time Conference USA 110 hurdle champion. He successfully defended his title in 2008 and qualified for the NCAA MidEast Regionals for the second-straight year. In his senior campaign, Oselukwue broke his 110 hurdle time by .20 seconds and earned All-C-USA honors for the second time in his career.

"As a two-time defending conference champion, he brings with him the experience that we feel is needed to upgrade our staff," said Fortenberry.

2006-07: INDOOR - Placed third in the 55m hurdles, with his best time of the day coming in the semis with a time of 7.77 at the ASU Kickoff Classic ... At the Rod McCravy Invitational ran a 8.41 in the 60 meter hurdles ... Competed in the 60 meters and 200 meters at the Gladstein Invitational finishing in times of 7.24 and 22.73 ... Competed at the McDonald's Invitational placing seventh in the 60 meters with a time of 7.21 and second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.40 ... At C-USA Championships placed third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.21. OUTDOOR - At the Rhodes Invitational placed third in the 110 hurdles crossing the line in 15.46 and fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.54 ... Placed third in the 110 hurdles at the Lynx Invitational finishing in a time of 14.78 ... At the Mississippi State Bulldog Classic tallied two fourth place finishes, competing in the 110 hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles. Crossing the line in 14:50 and 56.83 ... Placed 3rd in the Ole Miss Invitational in the 110 hurdles in a time of 14.71 ... Placed 8th at the Vanderbilt Invitational in the 110 hurdles crossing the line in 14.37 ... At the C-USA Championships won the 110 hurdles in a time of 14.33 and placed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 53.92.

2005-06:INDOOR- Finished fourth in a time of 8.35 in the 60-meter hurdles in the conference championship ... Placed fourth in the 55-meter hurdles at the ASU Kickoff ... Second in the 60-meter hurdles at the McDonalds Invitational. OUTDOOR- Registered a personal best 14.75 in the 100-meter hurdles at the C-USA Championships and ran a 54.14 in the 400 hurdles to finish second ... Opened the outdoor season with a first place finish in the 110 hurdles at the Rhodes Open ... Finished third in the 400m hurdles at the Sea Ray Relays with a time of 55.54 and fifth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.13 ... Finished fourth in the 110m hurdles at the Vanderbilt Invitational with a personal-best time of 14.99.

2004-05: INDOOR-Competed in the short sprints in his first season at the U of M...Logged season-best times of 6.72 and 23.22 in the 55m and 200m, respectively, at the ASU Kickoff Klassic...Ran both the 60m and 200m at the C-USA Championships, posting times of 7.22 and 23.30, respectively...OUTDOOR-Moved primarily to the 110m and 400m hurdles...Placed seventh in the 110m hurdles and 10th in the 400m hurdles at the Jace Lacoste Invitational with times of 15.41 and 56.81, respectively...Set personal bests of 14.76 in the 110m hurdles and 56.69 in the 400m hurdles at the C-USA Championships, placing 10th and 12th, respectively.

PREP: Attended Kirby H.S....Played football and ran track, earning two letters in each...Ran the 200m, 300m hurdles, 100m hurdles and 4x200m relay in track and played linebacker and running back in football...Voted Best Hurdler his junior year and Best All-Around Runner his senior year.
