2008 Outdoor: 2008 Conference USA Freshman of the Year...Competed in seven meets during the 2008 outdoor season including the NCAA Mideast Regional Meet...Participated in the shot put, hammer throw and discus for the Tigers and racked up 14 top-5 finishes...Recorded 14 top-five performances...At the Rhodes Open Meet, appeared on the medal stand two times placing third in the shot put with a throw of 16.25m (53-03.75) and another third place finish in the discus with a throw of 47.61m (156-02)...At the Ole Miss May Invitational, set a personal record for the shot put with a third place toss of 17.18m (56-04.50)...At the 2008 C-USA Outdoor Championships, placed fifth in the hammer throw setting a personal best mark of 56.30m (184-08)...Set another personal best mark in the discus with a fourth place performance of 49.82m (163-05)...Shot put throw earned him a trip to the medal stand as his toss of 16.81m (55-02.00) earned him a second place C-USA finish...At the NCAA Mideast Regionals, placed 18th throwing the shot put 16.42m (53-10.50).
2008 Indoor: Participated in all seven meets during the 2008 indoor season...Threw the shot put and weight throw for the Tigers...In his first meet at Memphis, placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 15.79m (51-09.75) and third in the weight throw with a launch of 17.16m (56-03.75)...Set a set a personal best throw of 16.97m (55-08.25) in the shot put at the SEMO Invitational placing third...At the same meet, placed second in the weight throw with a personal best toss of 19.47m (63-10.00)...At the 2008 C-USA Indoor Championships, threw an All-Conference fifth place mark in the shot put with a toss of 16.27m (53-04.50)...Also placed second in the weight throw with a throw of 18.75m (61-06.25).
ACADEMICS: Has been a member of the Tiger 3.0 Club for two semesters...Has also been a member of the C-USA Commissioner's Honor roll for one year.
