2003 NCAA Regional Qualifier: 200m
Williams is a veteran sprinter who looks to break into the upper echelon of sprinters in C-USA in 2004...He finished in the top-six at C-USA Outdoors in the 200m and qualified for NCAA Regionals as part of the 4x100m Relay team.
2003: INDOOR-Finished 11th in the 200m (22.46) at the Indiana Hoosier Invitational...Ran a 22.50 in the 200m at the C-USA Indoor Championships and did not qualify for the finals...Personal best times of 6.89 (60m), 22.46 (200m)...OUTDOOR-Placed second and third in the 100m (10.72) and 200m (21.63) at the UALR Open...Won the 200m at the Big Cat Classic with a time of 21.77 and placed second in 100m with a time of 10.72...As a member of the 4x100m Relay won the SEMO Gatorade Classic with a time of 41.19, also won the 200m (21.64) and placed third in the 100m (10.91) at the meet...Placed second with the 4x100m Relay team at the Mississippi State Invite with a time of 40.83...Placed sixth in the 200m (21.08) at the C-USA Outdoor Championships, placed ninth in the 100m (10.62) and fourth in the 4x100m Relay (40.51)...Qualified for the NCAA Mid-Eastern Regional in the 4x100m Relay and placed 11th at the meet with a time of 40.54...Personal best times of 10.62 (100m), 21.08 (200m) and 40.51 (4x100m Relay).
2002: INDOOR-Competed in all five indoor meets, posting his best 6.48 time in the 55 at Arkansas State...He also ran his best indoor 200 at Arkansas State when he finished 8th in 22.02...Did not qualify for the finals in the 60 or the 200 at the indoor championships...OUTDOOR-Competed in just three outdoor meets, missing the early part of the outdoor season before returning in April...Posted his best 100 time of the outdoor season at Arkansas State in 10.73, finishing second, and saving his best 200 time of the outdoor season for the C-USA championships, where he finished 15th overall in 21.60...Won the 200 at Arkansas State in 21.77 and finished third in the 200 at Tulane in 21.83.
2001: INDOOR-Competed in four indoor meets posting his best indoor times at the Illini Classic where he ran a season-best 6.86 in the finals of the 60m and a 22.40 in the finals of the 200m...He finished fourth in the 60m and fifth in the 200m at that meet...Finished seventh in the 60m at the C-USA Indoor championships and was fourth in the 200m in 22.62...Ran a 22.05 200m during the outdoor season at Tulane, which was an outdoor best...OUTDOOR-Finished eighth in the 100m at the outdoor championships after running a season-best time of 10.63 in the preliminaries...Finished seventh in the 200m with a 21.79 in the final...Won both the 100 and 200m at the Tiger Invitational for his best finishes of the season.
PREP: Attended Mt. Zion H.S...Was a one-time letterwinner on the undefeated AAA State Championship team while at Mt. Zion High School in College Park, Ga....Was the runner-up in the 60m dash at the Georgia Olympics...While at Mt. Zion he broke school records in the 100m (10.69) and 200m (21.60) meter dashes and was part of the 4x400m and 4x100m relay teams that also set new marks...Williams finished 10th in the 100m dash at the 1999 Nationals and was the recipient of the Legacy Award...He was the first in the county and in his family to receive a Division I track scholarship...Coached in high school by Rodney Hackney.
