FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Memphis men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up competition at the Tyson Invitational today. Day two of the event came to an end today as the Tigers finished the Tyson Invitational with some top performances.

Steffen Nerdal was unstoppable as he had a personal best mark of 19.28 meters (63-03.25) in the weight throw. Nerdal placed fifth in the event. Knut Syversen had a throw of 16.01 meters (52-06.50).

Senior Sam James competed in the men's 800-meter run, crossing the line in 1:56:28; a season best for the distance runner.

In the triple jump, Aaron Whetstone had a distance of 14.55 meters (47-09.00) in the triple jump.

On the women's side, the Lady Tigers had three athletes competing in the shot put. The No. 1 women's shot putter in the nation, Susan King, had a throw of 16.81 meters (55-02.00) finishing third. Sivan Aballi had a personal best throw in the event of 15.81 meters (51-10.50). Charlotte Abrahamsen had a throw of 14.55 meters (47-09.00). Abrahamsen also competed in the high jump; leaping to a height of 1.63 meters (5-04.25).
