Final Results

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.-Memphis track and field squads got a final tune-up before next week's Conference USA Indoor Championships at the Redhawks Invitational on Friday. Short sprint and field athletes took center stage in the Tigers' final regular season indoor meet.

Memphis swept the 55m hurdles, Tyrell Forde (7.61) took first for the men with Tuure Hollo (7.85) and Luis Hanssler (7.90) finishing second and third. Xenia Rahn (8.13) placed first for the women with Quaniqua Jones (8.17) finishing second. Forde, Hollo, Hanssler, Rahn and Jones' times were all new personal best.

Forde also took fourth in the 55m dash crossing the line with a new personal-best of 6.70. DaQuanya Byrd-West placed third for the women with a time of 7.27.

Memphis jumpers picked up a pair of first place finishes in the high jump. Kirsten Berding and Laura Toldy tied for first on the women' side of the event as both cleared 1.65m (5'5"). For the men, Georgio Lynwood took first clearing 2.13m (6'11.75") with Austin Crenshaw and Tim Jones finishing second and third at heights of 1.83m (6') and 1.78m (5'10") respectively,

In the pole vault, Crenshaw took first at a height of 5.05m (16'6.5") with fellow vaulter Tim Jones placing third at 4.27m (14'). Sabrina Hochreuther and Clara Amat Fernandez tied for second in the women's pole vault clearing the bar at 3.76m (12'4").

Memphis women took three top-5 finishes in the long jump. Rahn notched a new personal-best with a leap of 5.95m (19'6.25"). Quaniqua Jones took fourth at 5.15m (16'10.75") with Byrd-West placing fifth at 4.89m (16'.5").

The men's squad took three top-10 finishes in long jump. Manuel Ziegler (7.32m, 24'.25") and Luis Hanssler (7.23m, 23'8.75") placed second and fourth with new personal-bests as Jaleen White took eighth (6.77m, 22'2.5").

Ziegler took first in the men's triple jump with a leap of 15.31m (50'2.75"). Fellow jumpers Lynwood and White took fourth and fifth with Lynwood landing at 14.19m (46'6.75") and White notching a personal-best of 13.47 (44'2.5"). For the women, Sydney Wright finished second with a personal-best jump of 11.30m (37'1").

In the women's shot put, Allison Hotz (14.43m, 47'4.25"), Vivian Brandhoff (14.02m, 46') and Britta Jaarats (13.80m, 45'3.5") placed second, third and fourth. Anna Bischof (13.07m, 42'10.75"), Rahn (12.96m, 42'6.25") placed sixth and seventh with Cyarra Wells (12.46m, 40'10.50"), Courtney Kreuger (11.59m, 38'.25") and Jones (10.20m, 33'5.75") finishing in order ninth through 11th.

In the men's shot put, Yannik Schaly took second with a throw of 17.59m (57'8.50"). Fellow throwers Matt Sipe (16.01m, 52'6.5"), Andrew Miller (15.44m, 50'8"), Hollo (12.10m, 39'8.5") and Hanssler 11.34m (37'2.5") finished fifth, seventh, ninth and tenth respectively.

Memphis women finished one-two in the weight throw. Jaarats took first with a mark of 18.79m (61'7.75) with Wells taking second at 18.49m (60'8"). Hotz took fifth with a new personal-best of 16.44m (53'11.25"). Brandhoff finished eighth landing at 15.65m (51'4.25").

On the men's side of the weight throw, Miller took fourth with a throw of 17.34m (56'10.75"). Will Hubber placed sixth at 16.71m (54'10"), followed by Sipe in eighth at 15.36m (50'4.75").
