@MemTigersTF_XC Men Open Outdoor Season at Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss.-The University of Memphis men’s track and field team opened its outdoor season, on Saturday, at the Ole Miss Open. The Tigers took a total of three titles in their first outdoor outing.
In the 110m hurdles, Memphis scored three top-10 finishes. Aaron Willett took fourth with a new personal best of 14.94 with Persinger (15.07) and Luis Hanssler (15.07) placing sixth and eighth respectively.
LaForrest Church and Godfrey Fayne each racked-up top-10 finishes in the 800m. Churched took fourth clocking at time of 1:54.70, with Fayne taking sixth at 1:55.13. In the men’s 4 x 400m relay, the Tigers placed sixth with a time of 3:20.42 with the team of LaQuintin Garner, Church, Williams and Fayne passing the baton.
Moving to field events, Austin Crenshaw took second in the pole vault clearing a height of 5.08m (16’8”). In the triple jump, Jaleen White took the title with a leap of 14.70m (48’2.75”). White also placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 7.22m (23’8.25”).
Luke Vaughn took first in the discus with a throw of 53.10m (174’2”). Fellow throwers Yannik Schaly (46.80m, 153’6”), Tuure Hollo (45.60m, 149’7”) and Tom Willcox (44.37m, 145’7”) placed fourth, seventh and eighth respectively. In the hammer throw, Will Hubber (53.64m, 176’), Matt Sipe (53.39m, 175’2”) and Willcox (49.85m, 163’6”) finished in order sixth through eighth.
