@MemTigersTF_XC Throwers Start Competition at SEMO

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.-Memphis track and field throwers took to the hammer cage on day one of the Joey Haines Invitational hosted by SEMO.

For the men, Matt Sipe and Tom Willcox placed second and third respectively with Sipe throwing 52.75m and Willcox landing at 52.26m. Luke Vaughn placed seventh with a mark of 43.35m.

On the women’s side, Cyarra Wells was the top-finisher for Memphis throwing 47.95m for fifth. Vivian Brandhoff placed seventh with a throw of 44.70m.

Action resumes at the Joey Haines Invitational on Saturday with remaining field events beginning at 11:00 a.m. (CT) followed by track events at 12:00 p.m. (CT). Final results from the meet will be posted on GoTigersGo.com as they are made available.
