2014 Georgia Tech Invitational Final Results

ATLANTA, Ga. -The University of Memphis men's track and field team wrapped-up the 2014 outdoor track and field regular season at the Georgia Tech Invitational, on Friday and Saturday. Three Tigers scored wins in their final push for berths in the NCAA East Preliminary.

Pauls Pujats took the pole vault title clearing 5.52m (18'1.25"). Fellow pole vaulter Austin Crenshaw landed on the podium in third at a height of 5.08m (16'8").

Yannik Schaly placed first in the shot put with a throw of 18.10m (59'4.75"). Luke Vaughn scored a podium finish in second with a mark of 17.74m (58'2.5"). Vaughn then took first in the discus landing at 54.97m (180'4").

Thomas Poole took ninth in the javelin with a throw of 58.87m (193'2"). Teammate Marc Klaschka placed 13th with a mark of 57.46m (188'6"). In the hammer throw, Matt Sipe took 17th with a throw of 54.17m (177'9").

In jump events, Georgio Lynwood took sixth in the high jump clearing 2.05m (6'8.75"). Jaleen White took second in the long jump landing at 7.43m (24'4.5"). White also placed 16th in the triple jump at 14.51m (47'7.25").

On the track, LaForrest Church and Godfrey Fayne were the top-two finishers for Memphis in the 800m. Church placed 16th at 1:51.81, with Fayne taking 24th at 1:53.31. In the 1,500m, Austin Carter was the top Tiger placing 11th in a time of 3:53.36.

Moving to the hurdles, Brandon Williams took 17th in the 400m hurdles clocking in at 53.08. Aaron Persinger took 22nd with a time of 53.46.
