BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Junior hurdler Robert Jackson just missed qualifying for his second consecutive NCAA Championships, Saturday, when he was unable to advance past the semifinals at the NCAA East Regional preliminary round.

Jackson, from Snellville, Georgia, finished the 110m hurdles race in 13.93s, three-hundredths of a second behind equaling Maryland-Eastern Shore's Ackeem Smith for a spot as one of 12 qualifiers for the NCAA Championships.

Jackson's the second Tiger in as many days to just miss moving on in the competition; senior LaShundra Kershaw was just out of the money in yesterday's 200m dash.

That leaves senior Richard Lowe as the lone Tiger to move forward into the final competition for the NCAA's in 2011. He will compete in the 400m hurdles in Des Moines, Iowa, June 8 at 8:30 p.m. (CT), for a chance to become Memphis' first-ever 400m hurdles All-American.
