Jackson Falls Short of Qualifying Time at NCAA Outdoor Championships
June 10, 2010
EUGENE, Ore. – After a gold medal performance at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships, University of Memphis sophomore hurdler Robert Jackson entered Thursday’s preliminary round of the 110m hurdles in the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Championships seconds away from becoming Memphis’ second All-American hurdler. In front of a NCAA Outdoor Championships day two record crowd of 11,172 in attendance at Hayward Field, Jackson clocked a time of 14.00 seconds, but will not advance to the final. The Snellville, Ga., native ends his season as only the second Tiger hurdler to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Senior thrower Steffen Nerdal will represent the Blue and Gray for the final time on Friday at approximately 4:00 p.m. (PT) in the throwing circle. After a second place finish at the NCAA East Regional that featured seven of the nation’s top-10 hammer throwers, Nerdal is poised to claim his fourth All-American performance.
