Persinger and Church Compete at USATF Jr. National Championships

EUGENE, Ore.-University track and field freshmen Aaron Persinger (400m hurdles) and LaForrest Church (800m) competed at the United States Track and Field (USATF) Junior National Championships, on Saturday.
In the 400m hurdles, Persinger clocked a time of 54.82 finishing fifth in in his heat and 15th overall in the preliminary round. Church crossed the finish line at 1:58.22 in the 800m finishing eighth in his heat and 23rd overall in the preliminary round. Unfortunately, neither athlete was able to advance to their event finals.
The USATF Jr. National Championships closed out what were strong freshman campaigns for Persinger and Church. Persinger finished the 2014 outdoor season notching four top-five finishes in the 400m hurdles and three top-five finishes in the 110m hurdles. During the 2014 Outdoor season, Church took gold in the 800m at the American Athletic Conference Championship earning All-American Athletic Conference Honors.
