FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The men and women's cross country squads earned valuable experience at the world-renowned Chile Pepper Festival, Saturday. With both teams running longer distances (ten kilometers for the men, eight for the women), the extra work will prove invaluable at the Conference USA Cross Country Championships, Nov. 1, in Tulsa, Okla.

Freshman James Maglasang carried the men's squad again, finishing 163rd out of over 400 competitors in the 10K, with a 32:32.08 mark. Maglasang has now led the men's squad in each race as a freshman, including one overall champions title and three top-15 finishes.

Sophomore Robert Skinner was a strong second finisher for the Tigers, finishing 272nd with a 33:48.61 run. Senior Joe Coneo was the third Tiger scorer, coming in 329th overall with a 34:35.66 mark.

On the women's side, freshman Ellen Kildal led the way with a 19:23.19 mark in the women's eight-kilometer jaunt. It's the third time Kildal has led the Memphis women this season.

Junior Jasmine Darden was the next Lady Tiger across the line, with a 20:01.07 run. As a team, the Lady Tigers were 37th out of 56 women's squads.

Both teams will next be in action at the conference tournament at Tulsa, Nov. 1.
