Santa Teresa, N.M. - The University of Memphis men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Conference USA Championships today. The men's team took home 8th place, while the women placed 9th.

The men's side was led by Jorgen Ekdahl, who placed 35th, with a time of 28:13.5. Behind him in 40th place was Jacob Chapman, running a time of 28:42.1 38. Wesley Garrett (29:39.0 43), Joe Coneo Jr. (29:57.1) and Sam James (30:04.0) rounded out the rest of the pack.

On the women's side, Tina Sherratt crossed the line first for the Lady Tigers in a time of 19:51.1, good enough for 35th. Anneli Uys came in second for the team in a time of 20:03.2. Emily Malinowski was the third Lady Tiger to cross the line in 20:36.4. Lyndsey Ratasiewicz and Jessie Wilks finished in times of 22:03.0 and 24:16.5, respectively.

UTEP men won the men's championships and Rice won on the women's side.
