IRVING, Texas - Freshman jumper Aaron Whetstone was honored by Conference USA as the Indoor Track and Field Male Athlete of the Week, for the week ending Jan. 22. He is the first Tiger to receive the honor this season.

Whetstone leaped to a career-best 7.12 meters (23-04.50) in the long jump for second place at the Saluki Booster. He improved his mark from the first meet by .27 meters, almost a foot.
