The Memphis Men's Track team will travel to Jonesboro, Ark. Saturday to compete in the Arkansas State University Invitational. The two-day meet gets underway in ASU's Convocation Center at 3 p.m. Friday with the final event scheduled for 7 p.m. Action gets underway again Saturday at 10 a.m. and should end at 4:45 p.m.

The Men placed second at the ASU Kickoff Classic in early December and they are looking to build on that performance. Sprinters Frank Diadhiou and Andre Lucas and distance runners Ryan Smith and Hugh Ferry lead the way for the Tiger track team.

The Tigers will compete in a field of 23 teams. Men's and women's teams competing include Memphis, Alabama State, Alabama-Huntsville, Alcorn State, Arkansas Tech, Arkansas-Little Rock, Austin Peay, Christian Brothers, Grambling State, Harding, Jackson State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Mississippi Valley State, Missouri-Rolla, Murray State, Rhodes, Southeast Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Southwest Missouri State, Tennessee-Martin and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

The meet will mark the first action for the Tigers in the 2003 calendar year.
