MEMPHIS - The University of Memphis track team is preparing to travel to Bloomington, Ind. for the Gladstein Invitational hosted by Indiana. The meet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday with events slated to begin at noon on each day.

With the addition of several newcomers, who have just joined the team this week, Memphis head coach Kevin Robinson is expecting big results from his squad.

"I expect to see a lot of improvement from last week," said Robinson. "We're really brining the core group of kids who we expect to qualify for the NCAA Championships, and we're looking for some good results."

Despite several Tigers and Lady Tigers setting new personal bests in the team's meet last week, Robinson is confident that this week's competition will provide even better results.

"I expect for us to come back with a number of new PRs and even a few new records," said Robinson.

One area in which to expect significant improvement will be the women's distance group, where the Lady Tigers have added a pair of new runners to compliment lead distance competitor Emily Malinowski.

In the women's field events, both Gail Lee and Sivan Aballi have provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the shot put. Lee has also qualified in the weight throw.
