Chicago, Ill.-- - Senior thrower Jason Garrison (Memphis, Tenn./Kirby High School) was named the Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week by the league office, Wednesday.

Garrison won the men's hammer throw at the Rob McCravy Invitational at the University of Kentucky with a C-USA season-best toss of 59-00.

Garrison also finished second in the shot put with a put of 53-3.75.

Garrison was one of three double medalists for the U of M at the Kentucky meet. Junior Larry Crawford (Memphis, TN/Craigmont) broke his own school record in the 200 meter dash with a 21.51 time, good enough for second place. Crawford also finished second in the 60-meter dash.

Sophomore Delvit Rogers (Memphis, TN/Raleigh Egypt) also medalled in two events, winning both the long jump and triple jump.

The men's and women's track teams participate in the Saluki Invitational at Southern Illinois-Carbondale, Saturday.
