Tigers Ready for Final Tune-Up before C-USA Indoor Championships

Memphis Track and Field Notebook Feb. 14 C-USA Track and Field Notebook Redhawks Invitational Schedule Cape Girardeau, Mo.-Memphis track and field squads return to competition, on Friday, at the Redhawks Invitational. With the Conference USA Indoor Championships one week away, the Tigers look to sharpen their skills at SEMO. "Last week's meet in Birmingham was the last regular season meet for many of our athletes," head track and field coach Kevin Robinson said. "Basically short sprints, short hurdles, multi-event and field event groups are going up to Southeast Missouri. It's a very small laid back meet where typically we've had some very good results in our final preparation phase going into the conference championships." The one day meet starts at 4 p.m. on Friday, with field events (pole vault, long jump, triple jump, weight throw and shot put) followed by running events (55m hurdles, 55m dash, mile run, 400m, 800m, 200m, 3,000m and 4 x 400m relay at 6:30 p.m. Final results from the Redhawks Invitational will be posted on GoTigersGo.com as they are made available. Last Time Out In the women's 800m, Maya Williamson broke her own school-record and took first place in the women's 800m with a time of 2:10.53. Williamson bested her previous program-record of 2:11.31 set earlier this season. Williamson, Funderburk, Monica Mason and Keyona Neal took first-place and once again broke their own program-record in the women' 4 x 400m relay with a time of 3:42.10. The group surpassed the record they the week prior at the Meyo Invitational of 3:42.69 Tigers Holding Strong in the USTFCCCA South Region On the men's side, the distance medley relay team of Julien Wolf, Brandon Williams, Godfrey Fayne and James Maglasang rank fifth in the South Region. In the high Jump, Georgio Lynwood ranks third with his season-best leap of 2.14m (7'.25"). Pole vaulters Austin Crenshaw (5.25m, 17'2.75") and Pauls Pujats rank fourth and fifth respectively. In the triple jump, Manuel Zielger ranks seventh with his season-best of 15.74m (51'7.75"). Andrew Miller ranks eighth in the weight throw with a season-best mark of 18.59m (61'). In the heptathlon Luis Hanssler (5,291 points) and Marc Klaschka (5,204 points) check in at fourth and fifth. For the women, Kala Funderbuk ranks fifth with her school-record mark of 54.17. Funderburk along with Monica Mason, Keyona Neal and Maya Williamson rank sixth in the women's 4 x400m with a time of 3:42.10. In field events, Xenia Rahn ranks sixth in the high jump with her season-best of 1.81m (5'11.25"). Pole vaulters Clara Amat Fernandez and Sabrina Hochreuther are tied for fifth at a height of 3.90m (12'9.5"). Cyarra Wells checks in at fourth in the weight throw with her season-best mark of 18.80m (61'8.25"). In the women's pentathlon, Rahn ranks first with her school-record performance of 4,191 points. C-USA Event Standings In the 800m Maya Williamson (2:10.53), Nandia Taylor (2:13.92) and Monica Mason 2:14.24) rank fourth, seventh and ninth. Louisa Lingley holds the No. 9 spot in the mile run with a season-best time of 4:56.78. In relay events, Funderburk, Mason, Neal and Williamson rank third in the 4 x 400. In the distance medley, Taylor, Funderburk, Williamson and Lingley hold the No. 4 spot at a time of 12:00.95. In field events, Xenia Rahn (1.81m, 5'11.25"), Laura Toldy (1.70m, 5'7") and Kirsten Berding (1.67m, 5'5.75") rank second, fifth and eighth. Rahn also ranks sixth in the long jump at a distance of 5.89m (19'4"), and ninth in the 60m hurdles at a time of 8.65. In the pole vault, Sabrina Hochreuther and Clara Amat Fernandez are tied for third at a height of 3.90m (12'9.5"). Carolina Carmichale tied for seventh with her season-best vault of 3.70m (12'1.5"). In the shot put, Allison Hotz (14.85m, 48'8.75"), Vivian Brandhoff (14.55m, 47'9") and Britta Jaarats rank fifth, sixth and seventh. Cyarra Wells (18.80m, 61'8.25") and Jaarats rank second and fifth respectively in the weight throw. In the pentathlon, Xenia Rahn (4, 191 points), Quaniqua Jones (3,312 points) and Laura Toldy (3,250 points) hold down the first, fifth and sixth spots in the league standings. For the men, Tyrell Forde (8.12) and Aaron Willett (8.28) hold down the No. 4 and No. 8 spots in the 60m hurdles. In relay events, the 4 x 400m team of Ojike Maat, Luis Hanssler, Godfrey Fayne and Brandon Williams rank fifth, with the distance medley team of Julien Wolf, Williams, Fayne and Maglasang ranking second. Williams also ranks eighth in the 400m with his season-best time of 48.73. In the high jump, Georgio Lynwood ranks second with his season-best leap of 2.14m (7'.25"). Multi-event athlete Tuure Hollo is tied for ninth in the event at a height of 1.93m (6'4"). Pole vaulters Austin Crenshaw (5.25m, 17'2.75") and Pauls Pujats (5.10m, 16'8.75") rank second and third respectively. Hollo checks in at the No. 9 spot in the pole vault at a height of 4.65m (15'3"). Luis Hanssler (7.08m, 23'2.75") ranks fifth in the long jump, with Manuel Ziegler and Marc Klaschka tied for sixth at 7.05m (23'1.75"). Ziegler ranks second in the triple jump with his season-best 15.74m (51'7.75"). In the shot put, three Tigers hold top-10 spots as Yannik Schaly (17.43m (57'2.25"), Andrew Miller (16.71m, 54'10") and Matt Sipe 15.57m (51'1") rank third, sixth and seventh. In the weight throw, Miller (18.59m, 61'), Will Hubber (16.79m, 55'1") and Sipe (15.07m, 49'5.5") hold down the third, sixth and tenth spots. In the heptathlon, Hanssler (5,291 points), Klaschka (5,204 points), Hollo (5,079 points) rand second, third and fourth with Tim Jones (4,343 points) ranking tenth.
