CHICAGO-Memphis Junior Distance runner Szilard Toth was named C-USA Male Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week it was announced today by the conference offices.

Memphis' Szilard Toth earned C-USA Athlete of the Week for his performance at the SEMO Invitational on Friday. A new member to the Tiger squad, Toth is emerging as a force in the distance events. This weekend, the junior put out a gold medal performance in the 800m run with a time of 1:57.91 and then claimed first place in the 3000m after clocking in at 8:57.60.

Toth joined the Memphis track program this spring. He ranks No. 1 in C-USA in the mile run entering the C-USA Indoor Championships this weekend in Houston. He is one of several talented Tiger distance runners that will help Memphis contend for a conference championship on the men's side this weekend.

Toth is a native of Pecs, Hungary.
