IRVING, Texas - Sophomore Steffen Nerdal and senior Susan King earned Conference USA Male and Female Indoor Athlete of the Week accolades, announced by the league office today as they swept this week's honors.

Nerdal, who leads C-USA in the weight throw earned his first C-USA athlete of the week honor of his career. He tops the leader board as he threw an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 19.56 meters in the weight throw, at the Broadway Prescription Invitational last weekend. The mark gave Nerdal a first place finish in the event, a personal-best distance and a new school record.

Susan King had her second best throw of her career as her mark of 16.99 meters (55-09.00) brought her home a second place finish at the Southeast Missouri Broadway Prescription Invitational, with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark. King's throw is the third-best throw in the nation. She also placed second in the weight throw with a distance of 17.60 meters (57-09.00).

Both King and Nerdal will enter the Conference USA Indoor Championships this weekend at the top of the performance list in their respective events.
