MODESTO, Calif.-The University of Memphis Men's Track Team will send thrower Gaute Myklebust to the Modesto Relays on Saturday May 8 hosted by Modesto Junior College.

The meet will feature international invitational competition, along with college and community college championships at the Modesto Junior College Stadium. Myklebust enters the meet as one of the nation's most prolific discus throwers. As of May 1 he ranks No. 1 in C-USA, No. 1 in the Mid-East Region and No. 4 in the nation in the event. He is qualified for the 2004 NCAA Mid-Eastern Regional in both events. Myklebust will try to improve his mark in the discus this weekend. The discus competition will be at 12 noon on Saturday.

The rest of the Memphis track & field team has the weekend off from competition and will continue to prepare for next weekend's C-USA Championships in Louisville, Ky.
